Wildlife to flourish thanks to a grant
A cash grant will help give three woodlands a lease of life.
South Cambs District Council has given £2,350 to the Wildlife Trust. The money will pay for coppicing at Gamlingay Wood, Hayley Wood near Little Gransden and Hardwick Wood.
Young branches will be cut back to allow light to generate new growth. This will encourage flowers to grow and more wildlife to live there.
Council leader Ray Manning said: “Woodlands are an integral part of the district and we are delighted to be able to support the work that is being carried out. By maintaining our woodlands we protect our heritage for future generations and make them a haven for wildlife and local people.”
