Woodpecker hunts at the RSPB reserve

THE RSPB will keep you entertained this half term.

Learn how to make a nestbox on Saturday (February 11) at either 11am to 12.30pm or 1pm to 2.30pm and on Wednesday, February 15 from 11am to 12.30pm.

Putting up a nestbox in your garden will help the birds to raise their young.

The cost is £7 per nestbox and booking is essential.

There will be a Love Nature walk on Tuesday (February 14) from 2pm to 3.30pm. Take a Valentine’s Day stroll around the reserve. Adults are £4, RSPB members and children £3 and RSPB Wildlife Explorers £2. Booking is advisable.

From Monday (February 13) to Sunday, February 19 there will be a children’s woodpecker hunt from 10am to 4pm. Search for pictures around the reserve. Each trail sheet costs £1.

On Saturday, February 18 there will be a free optics demonstration from 10am to 4pm. Try out the latest binoculars and telescopes.
