Young actor lands film role
George to star in sci-fi film about time travel.
A budding young actor is hoping to walk the red carpet after being chosen to star in an independent film.
George Thomas, 11, who goes to Holmemead Middle School in Biggleswade, is set to star in a sci-fi film about time travel.
George was selected by his tutor at the Helen O'Grady drama school to try out for the film, named Dimensions, which is being produced by a husband and wife team.
After attending auditions at the ADC theatre in Cambridge, George was chosen to play one of three childhood friends.
His mum, Caroline, said: "It has been a fantastic experience for him. He is absolutely loving it and it's great for his confidence.
"Before George started all he talked about was hoping there would be a premiere. He wanted something with a red carpet that he could walk along. Now he has started filming he is taking it much more seriously."
Once filming is complete, Dimensions will be taken around film festivals in order to obtain distribution.
George said: "I feel very lucky to have been chosen because there were about 100 people who auditioned apparently.
"It was a lot different from what I expected. Most of the time I was waiting - it's not all glamorous!"
