A Paralympic bronze medallist paid a visit to a leisure centre on Tuesday (October 30).

Swimming instructor Harriet Lee – who came third in the SB9 100m breaststroke final at London 2012 – was the special guest at the Saxon Pool and Leisure Centre in Biggleswade.

The 21-year-old, who taught children at the pool from 2008 to 2010, was at the centre as part of the Big Toddle charity event.

Harriet has beckwith-wiedemann syndrome, a rare overgrowth disorder.

As a youngster she trained with the Mid Beds Swim Squad in Biggleswade, before her disability had even been classified.

She continues to have strong connections to the Saxon, teaching there when her schedule allows plus getting involved in the pool’s campaigns and charity swimathon.
