Shefford singer Jade Green is passionate about music and the Dr Hadwen Trust – the UK’s leading non-animal research medical charity.

Now she’s combining her dual interests by organising a two day music festival. Meow Fest will take place at The Bridge in Shefford on Saturday and Sunday (June 4 and 5). It will have two stages – an outside acoustic tent with a band stage inside.

Jade said: “The music is completely diverse with nothing too loud. It’s open to everyone and families are particularly welcome.”

The 26-year-old – who sings with Dirty Parle, specially reuniting for the occasion – explained: “I live near Hitchin and feel really passionate about the Dr Hadwen Trust and the work they do.

“I organised a smaller festival last year for another charity and I felt really inspired to organise something bigger to help raise awaresness and funds for the DHT.”

DHT’s Grand Challenge aims to raise £180,000 by the end of the year to fund a three-year brain tumour research project at the University of Portsmouth.

Brain tumours kill more people under 40 than any other cancer.
