A community champion has been given an award by the high sheriff of Bedfordshire, Deborah Inskip.
Susie Woodman received the Highly Commended Award for her voluntary work at Wyboston, Chawston and Colesden Village Hall.
Along with the rest of the committee she has turned the hall into a thriving community venue.
Susie said: “It was a very humbling experience to be with so many other volunteers who regularly give up their time to help others.
“I am proud to be the chair of the committee but without the support of the other committee members I would not be able to do all of it on my own.
“However it is a great honour to be nominated and receive an award.”
The hall is now regularly fully booked.
