Northill and Ickwell Drama Group is staging the play about the vicar, made famous on TV, next week and tickets have been selling well.

The amateur dramatic group will transform themselves into the quirky inhabitants of Dibley as they get to meet their new vicar, based on the hit show starring Dawn French.

Set in a fictional small Oxfordshire village, life is turned upside down when the ancient Reverend Pottle dies - and the diocese sends a new vicar.

The only problem is ‘he’ is a ‘she’.

Rev Geraldine Grainer’s arrival, as Rev Pottle’s replacement, is met with a mixture of enthusiasm and horror from the assorted collection of rural yokels who call Dibley their home.

An evening of laughter is guaranteed, covering hilarious events from the arrival of the vicar to the wedding of Alice and Hugo.

Performances are on Thursday March 2, Friday, March 3, and Saturday, March 4, at Northill Village Hall. Curtain goes up at 7.30pm each evening.

Tickets are only available now for Thursday, March 2. Call the box office on 01767 627744.
