Edward Peake School and Biggleswade Academy both held their own bake-off heats and finals.

The finalists from each school met up at Stratton for the big bake-off final on Friday, June 10.

The Great Biggleswade Bake-Off was won by Maria, a pupil at Edward Peake School.

The other finalists who took part were Kirsty and Melissa from Edward Peake, and Elizabeth, Chloe and Ben from Biggleswade Academy.

A spokesman for Stratton Upper said: “The students were all fantastic and showed great practical skills. All students were a credit to their schools in the way they worked.

A special thank you to our year 9 students who helped out for the morning – they too were a credit to the school.

“Also thank you to the judges who were tasked with the incredibly difficult decision on who the winner should be. There was very little in it when the points were added up.”

After the success of this inaugural bake-off contest there are plans to hold more in the future.
