Winning young artists announced in Rotary competition held at Jordans Mill

Wonderful pieces of art were on display at Jordans Mill, where the winners in a Rotary competition were revealed.

More than 30 entries by aspiring young artists were recently displayed and judged at the venue in Broom for the local stage of the Rotary Young Artist competition.

The winning entries will now go to the district competition for Rotary Clubs across Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire.

The winners were:

Intermediate: 1st Bronwen Plowman, Burgoyne Middle School, 2nd Samuel Lower, Burgoyne Middle School, 3rd Coco Harwood, Etonbury Academy.

Junior: 1st Daniel Hornsby, Derwent Lower School and Hannah Beard, Laburnum Lower School, 2nd Keira Anker, Burgoyne Middle School.

Other entries selected to go to the district final were from Jessica Mawditt, Burgoyne Middle School, Fabio Orza, Etonbury Academy and Jamie Coles, Laburnum Lower School.

The Rotary Clubs of Sandy, Biggleswade and Biggleswade Ivel would like to congratulate all those who took part.

The next opportunity Rotary offers young people is the Rotary Youth Leadership Award course.
