Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a supermarket in Shefford was targeted by thieves in the early hours of Sunday, August 3.

The incident took place at around 2am at Morrisons in St Francis Way, Shefford, when three offenders prised open the front doors of the shop.

Once inside, the offenders made their way to the tobacco kiosk where they stole one cash draw and then forced open another till and removed the float.

The offenders then left the store – having failed to open the cigarette storage – and escaped in a dark coloured 4x4 vehicle.

Detective Constable Karl Heywood, who is investigating the incident, is keen to speak with anyone who was in the area at the time of the robbery and may have seen the offenders either before or after the raid.

If you have information relating to this incident, contact DC Heywood, in confidence, on 01234 275364, the non-emergency number 101, or text information to 07786 200011.
