Our August 8 photograph entitled 'Why were they there ?' showing a mystery gathering at Henlow Village Hall in the '50's prompted a response from Margaret Major.
She emailed us to say she is sure the picture is of Henlow Parish Council as photogra
phs were taken regularly at council gatherings.
She was also able to supply all the names to Julian Cakebread's photograph which she hopes are correct.

Said Margaret: "My brother also remembers Ben and Mary's parrot (at the Engineer's Arms, Henlow).
"At times they used to have it sitting on the bar.
"It wouldn't be very hygienic these days!"
Thanks go to Margaret.
