A class at Rose Lane School during the 1970's
A class of children at Rose Lane School is pictured here flanked by class teacher B Chambers on the left and school headmaster on the right.

Both are wearing their imposing gowns - a sight not seen in schools these days.

Lynda Fensome doesn't remember the year but thinks it was taken sometime in the 1970's when she was between eight and ten years old.

Unusually, the children have written their names on the back in an 'autographic record'.

They are: back row - B Chambers, Michelle P, Jackie N, Graham -, David Clover, Samantha -, Nicola Course, Andrew McCarthy, Craig Warner and Richard -. I

n the second row are Craig Hardy, Paul Sapiano, Jon Ireson, Alan Kitchener, Simon Conway, Duncan Smith, Gabriel F and Geoffrey -.

While in the front row are Kay H, Allison Albore, Tara jenkins, Lynda Fensome, Frankie Bradley, Claire Story, Annette A, Julie Lee and Paula Washington.

This story appeared in an autumn issue of Memory Lane.
