Shefford's old annual fundraiser for Bedford Hosptial

This picture was taken way back in 1935 in the days when Shefford held annual hospital parades with proceeds going to Bedford Hospital.

Note the old shop front W B Moss and Sons Ltd in the background.

The name entered by G Squire and Sons was Widdicombe Fair, complete with old rocking horse tied to the roof of the car.

From left to right are: George King, Frank Perridge, Alan Wilkie, George Mobbs, George Squire, Bill Urin.

On top of the car is Bill Squire as Uncle Tom Cobbly.

Thanks go to Mrs E Kefford for sharing this wonderful old photo.

This story appeared in an autumn issue of Memory Lane.

What should happen to Biggleswade's Woolworths store?
