Voted the UK's number one harmony band, Maxwell Hammer & Smith will no doubt be giving a typically rousing performance.

Playing the "Good 'ol stuff", reviews have been very favourable for the trio.

As one report explains, expect them to be: "Playing hits Sylvia and Hocus Pocus, complete with not-half-bad yodelling, and a monstrously good finale of Meat Loaf's Bat Out Of Hell incorporating Todd Rundgren's original '40s motor bike sound!"

Don't expect a second rate performance either. As one gig-goer put it: "They all had obvious musical talent and pedigree and they played with enthusiasm and control, yet in a fun and spirited way."

Another said: "They never blotted each other out and never overplayed – you could imagine them taking hours during rehearsals to work out some of the arrangements."

If all else fails one thing is sure to make the trip worthwhile: their famous rendition of the Queen classic Bohemian Rhapsody.

With an excellent fan following it's likely to be a buzzing gig. Catch them at the Roundabout Club in Sandy on November 15 kicking off at 9pm.




Rounding off our tributists, look out for guitarist Mickey Flynn, sometimes seen accompanied with a band but doing a lot of solo work lately.

Mickey, a walking epitome of blues rock, does the genre justice with fantastic solos. Certainly worth a look down at The Rose on November 15 at 9pm.
