Now you can back your favourite boozer in Chronicle country!
Votes have already started flooding in for Pub Of The Year 2009 – but there's still time for you to have a say!

The people of Chronicle Country certainly know when to get behind their favourite pub.

We have already received hundreds of votes,
via text and post, in our competition since voting began.

But don't worry if you haven't got round to voting yet, there's still plenty of time.

There are a dozen pubs to choose from – a shortlist nominated by Chronicle readers over the past couple of months.

Who gets your vote as the pub you most want to spend a pleasant lunchtime or evening in?

The pub with the most votes will be crowned the winner, so what are you waiting for?

Are the bar staff friendly, does the pub dish up fine grub, or maybe you can simply rely on them to pull the perfect pint?

Whatever the reason, get your vote in now.

Your top pubs are

1 The Plough, Langford
2 The White Horse, Broom
3 The Royal Oak, Potton
4 The Crown, Northill
5 The Golden Pheasant, Biggleswade
6 The Bricklayers Arms, Potton
7 The George and Dragon, Potton
8 The Thornton Arms, Everton
9 The Chequers, Wrestlingworth
10 The Cock Inn, Broom,
11 Sir William Peel, Sandy (pictured)
12 John O'Gaunt Inn, Sutton

Here's how you can vote:

By text: Start your message to 81800 with the word BCPUB followed by a space then the number of the pub of your choice, as featured in the list above – followed by your name and postal address.

So it should read something like BCPUB 4 bob smith 8 spring gardens sandy sg19 4th

You can vote as often as you like. Voting closes on Monday, January 4, 2010 and the winning pub will be revealed in the New Year in the Biggleswade Chronicle.

Terms and conditions: 81800 calls cost £1 plus your standard network charge. This will be charged to your mobile phone bill.
