Acorn Pre School marks moving into new premises and opening of Sure Start Children's Centre with open day

Hundreds turned out to celebrate the opening of a pre-school and children's centre at a family fun day.

Acorn Pre-school has now moved to its new premises at Shefford Lower School and a new Sure Start Children's Centre has opened and will be running in the same building.

Co-ordinator of the centre, Catherine Williams, said: "The opening day went really well. We had hundreds of people turn up for it and we had something for all ages.

"We are working with Acorn Pre-school but are two separate groups. The centre will really be an information and support point for parents and guardians.

"As well as offering support groups, we also plan to hold a number of activities for children, like a messy play morning that will be held monthly."

The official opening of the two groups included baby massage and baby signing taster sessions, go-karting, facepainting, a pedal powered smoothie machine, a pamper tent and lots more.
