1972 Biggleswade Nursery School children captured
A large group of children hold hands on a sunny day in their playing field over thirty years ago.

This was The Lawns Nursery School and the photograph was taken in around 1972.

Kay Huggett, who kindly sent in the photograph, is pictured sixth from right wearing a pale blue dress.

Do any 40 year old readers recognise themselves? Who were the teachers?

Please contact us by email at Nostalgia.

This story appeared in a summer 2009 issue of Memory Lane.

Today's Vote

What is the future of our special schools?
Keep them, they do a great job
Merge them, it's the way forward
Close them and integrate into mainstream schools
