Take a behind the scenes tour to see what happens to your recycled rubbish

It's dirty work but someone has got to do it – and our video shows you exactly what it is they take on.

Bedfordshire County Council held a tour at its Elstow Materials Recycling Facility, and our video reporter Natalee Hazelwood was at the scene to see the team in action.

Coun Tom Wootton, who holds the portfolio for highways and waste at Bedfordshire County Council, said: "People that come along always get a surprise when they see how their recycling is sorted by hand.

"They are able to appreciate why it's so important to put the correct
materials in their kerbside recycling container to stop contaminating those materials which can be recycled.

"We are working hard to recycle more waste in Bedfordshire. Currently, nearly 40 per cent of all the household waste produced within the county is recycled, thanks to your help."

Do you believe there are UFOs in our skies?
Yes, aliens are out there
No, a load of rubbish
They are all just sky lanterns
