All three Chronicle sides exit FA Cup

Hunt give Arlesey an opening day win but Waders are held

Biggleswade Town let a 2-0 ha;f time lead slip away at newly-promoted Aylesbury this afternoon (Saturday) when their Southern League campaign got underway, the game ending in a 2-2 draw.

Paul Barnes scored twice in the opening 45 minutes after six and 43 minutes but the Buckinghamshire side levelled in the new half courtesy of Douglas (69) and Kyeremeh a minute from time.

It was better news for Arlesey Town who collected all three points at the Armadillo Stadium, but once again the Blues were indebted to new signing Harry Hunt who netted the Division One Central game's only goal against Beaconsfield SYCOB some two minutes into first half stoppage time.

In the three FA Cup ties involving Chronicle Country sides, Biggleswade United were dumped out 4-1 at Second Meadow by UCL Premier Division side Newport Pagnell Town while Langford also lost 3-1 at Forde Park against recently-relegated Southern League side Aylesbury United.

And there was no joy for Stotfold as they bowed out 1-0 away to fellow SSML Premier Division side Chalfont St Peter.

Also out are Bedford FC having lost 3-0 at Eton Manor as are Ampthill Town who lost 2-1 away to Team Bury.

IN SSML Division One, Bedford Town Reserves were 4-0 home winners against Amersham Town while Cranfield United won 3-1 at Crawley Road against Sport London e Benfice.

And in UCL, Wootton Blue Cross went down 3-0 in their league Division One opener away to Burton Park Wanderers.
