BLUES: Rayer names team for Plymouth
Bedford Blues director of rugby Mike Rayer makes five changes to the team that started against Coventry last weekend.
Chris Locke starts at hooker in place of Dan Richmond, Sacha Harding comes in at blindside flanker in place of Gregor Gillanders, while John Harlock returns at lock for Paul Tupai.
Brad Davies gets the nod ahead of Myles Dorrian at fly half and Liam Roberts makes a first start of the season at 12 giving Ian Vass a rest.
Luke Fielden has recovered from a back injury and takes a place on the bench but Nick Walshe (hamstring), Marco Cecere (arm), Mike Guess (ankle) and Mike Howard (back) all miss out. Alex Brown also faces a late fitness test.
Backs coach Walshe said: "Plymouth are a good side, as are all teams in this league, and they will play a certain way against us and keep it reasonably tight. We have to work hard on our defence, on our attack and cutting out the errors.
"As long as we have a good mindset in defence and try to restrict them as much as possible then it will keep us in a good position so that when we attack we can be patient, go through the phases and be clinical.
"It is a case of keeping the momentum going, working really hard and being prepared for a physical battle because it always is down there."
