Ickwell slump on The Green to Eaton Socon

Ickwell went down by 88 runs at home to Eaton Socon II in Hunts League Division One on Saturday

Visitors Eaton chose to bat and Jamie Vale (77), 
Roan Haarhoff (49 not out) and 47 extras helped them make 253 for 8. Ross Cunningham (3 for 47) was the most successful of the Ickwell bowlers.

Peter Sowerby (66) and Harry Young (37) made most of the runs scored by Ickwell 1st . But there was not much other support and the home sidel were dismissed for 165.

Bel Wallis hit an unbeaten century in Southill Park’s win at home to Godmanchester. His 101, accompanied by 90 from George Darlow and 53 from Lee Hoggett, saw Partk to an impressive 275-3.

Darlow took 2-27 as Park restricted their visitors to 147-7 in reply.

Ickwell II travelled to Brampton in Division Four, won the toss and put the home side into bat. An opening stand of 51 got Brampton off to a good start and they posted 208-5.

An opening stand of 114 between Andrew Simpkins (54) and Sam Barrow (52) set up a winning position for Ickwell. The later batsmen and especially Tinu Thankappan (48) built on this position as Ickwell went to a six wicket victory with three overs to spare.
