Langford and Potton go through in Heritage Cup

Langford piled on the runs to beat Biggleswade in the Heritage Cup quarter-finals on Monday night.

Langford scored a massive 189 from 15 x 8 ball overs for the loss of just two wickets, with captain Jordan Cleghorn scoring 31, Harry Jerome 25, Earl Lee 69 not out and Luke Peters 48 not out.

Biggleswade were contained to 109-4, Kevin Wright 53 not out off 64 balls while Lee took three catches.

Elsewhere Caldecote bowed out to Flitwick by 37 runs.

Flitwick scored 157-7 off their 15 overs, Jimmy Hunt scoring 46 off 30 balls including four sixes.

Jamie Pomfrey took three wickets inhis three overs.

In reply Caldecote made 120-5. A key loss for Caldecote was Jason Welch being run out for 10 by Joe Bygraves.

Potton Town won by six wickets at Southill Park.

The hosts chose to bat first and openers George Darlow (21) and Lee Hoggett (16) made a steady start. However nobody could go on and make a big innings and only afew late runs from the last partnership pushed the score to 124-9.Dan Hall was pick of the bowlers with 3-25.

In reply~Stephen Williams (35) and James Worboys (37) built a match-winning partnership. They put on 52 for the second wicket while James Howlett and Hall added the final runs to see them over the line in the final over with six wickets in hand.

Ampthill had to concede their home game against Waresley.

This means that the semi finals are Langford v Flitwick and Potton Town v Waresley.

The Butcher Shield game between Blunham and Southill at Ickwell will now be played on Tues day, June 21 at 6pm.
