Richard takes four with first four balls!

Old Warden bowler Richard Dutton took an incredible four wickets with his first four balls on Saturday.

In a friendly at home to Flitwick III Dutton was thrown the ball with the visitors ticking along on 62-3.

Just four balls later, in amazing scenes, Flitwick were 62-7. Shoaib Rashid was first to go, clean bowled, while Dave Sarney, Ross Sample and Jonathan Dove caught the next three Flitwick batsmen who all returned to the pavilion with golden ducks.

A stunned Flitwick managed to rally to 110 all out. However it wouldn’t prove to be enough, as Dominic Mawdsley (25) and Dove (36) led the reply to the target with six wickets in hand.

Old Warden won the game by six wickets.

On Sunday an Old Warden/ Shefford Warden XI took on Steppingley in another friendly.

Warden chose to bat first and Naz Sahdev (52) set the tone with a half century at the top of the order. With support from Tim Blunt (35) and Ross Goodship (25) the side posted a score of 179-9 off their 40 overs.

Joe Sharp was the pick of Warden’s bowlers, taking 3-19 as Steppingley were allout for 121 in the final over of their reply.
