The result leaves them only 35 points behind league leaders Foxton in a close battle in the top half of the table.

Batting first, Burwell found runs hard to come by. Former Waresley player, James Dallaway (58) received little support as they were all out for 137 in 45 overs.

Pick of the bowlers were seamer Rob Lowin (10-1-34-3) and veteran spinner Nigel Buckingham-Jones (10-2-12-3).

An opening partnership of 84 between Nick Taylor (31) and skipper Tom Griffiths (54) set Waresley well on their way, as they completed the run chase in 35.2 overs for the loss of three wickets.

Blunham remain bottom after a low-scoring defeat at home to Ramsey.

They did well in bowling out the second placed side for just 135, but their own innings stumbled to 110 all out, 25 runs short.
