Mitch Hahn scored both goals to seal the Dean Holdsworth’s side the First Round Qualifying victory despite a late rally from Arlesey.

Brentwood took the lead in the 27th minute when Hahn beat Nick Thompson with a long range drive into the corner.

They could and should have doubled that just before the interval but Arlesey captain Stefan Bailey did just enough to ensure Liam Hope put the ball wide.

Arlesey started the second period brightly but were hit with a killer blow when Hahn latched on to Thompson’s throw out and converted into the bottom corner.

The Blues did rally, Bailey’s close range header being well saved while sub Jordon Appleton was unable to convert a chance.

Christian Tavernier and Appleton both had late attempts to salvage something from the game but they couldn’t find the net.

Arlesey’s focus now returns to their Southern League Division One Central campaign - they visit Kings Langley on Saturday in search of points to lift them off the bottom of the table.
