Biggleswade Town secured their eighth win in nine games to move back into third spot in the table on Saturday.

Waders are the in-form side in the league and were determined to put the previous week’s defeat at Godalming Town behind them.

There was little to note in an uninspiring first half as both teams got to grips with a heavy pitch and it wasn’t until 64 minutes that the breakthrough arrived as Matt Clifford was pulled back in the box and Lee Allinson netted from spot.

It was 1-1 moments later though as smail Mohamed struck a right foot shot past Michael McEntegart.

Substitute Joel Mason then provided a moment of magic as he ghosted past two defenders and fired home, before Max York headed home nine minutes from time.

The result saw Waders back up to third in the table. They head to Barton on Saturday before hosting Langford in the North Beds Charity Cup on Tuesday night.

Biggleswade: McEntegart, York, Clifford, Gatti, Gentle, Allinson (Kilroy), Case (Mason), Reynolds, Donnelly, O’Brien (Barnes), Woolf.
