Renhold go clear in Bedfordshire League

The host side went down to their fourth consecutive defeat and remain on the bottom of the table. Mark Reed did all the damage with a hat-trick.

Whilst remaining in third spot are Shefford Town & Campton who retained their own season’s unbeaten ways by winning 3-0 at Ickwell & Old Warden. Andy Hayday gave them the lead in the 34th minute but they had to wait until the last seven minutes before Hayday scored twice to complete his hat-trick to claim the points.

The home side’s cause not helped by a second yellow card for Lee Threadgold just three minutes before Hayday’s second goal.

Now in fourth place are Flitwick Town who ran out 3-0 home winners over Sharnbrook thanks to a hat-trick from Daniel Stafford and thus dropping AFC Turvey down to fifth spot following their 3-0 home defeat at the hands of AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College. Mark Ivy, Colby Smith plus a Josh Sturniolo penalty doing the damage.

Elsewhere, there was a first win of the season for Eastcotts AFC who with a goal from Kaylen Wilson were 1-0 home winners over Wootton Blue Cross. Whilst Sandy are still looking for their own opening win of the campaign after being held to a 0-0 home draw by Wilstead.

The Pavenham v Caldecote game waspostponed due to their goalposts being vandalised overnight.

The new leaders of the Division One supported by Wests Citroen Bedford league table are Henlow who claimed their third win on the bounce with a 2-1 home success over Riseley Sports.

James Campbell and George Renney netted the vital goals against a lone reply from James Bowen.

Whilst now in second spot are Sundon Park Rangers who welcomed Brache Sparta back to the Bedfordshire County Football League by beating them 22-0. Matt Conway claiming 10 goals, Nick Buttigeig five, Ravi Jessani 2 alongside single strikes from Edward Lewis, Steve Farkas, Brian Fraser and Lee Garner plus an own goal.

Now in third place are Cranfield United who were held to a 1-1 draw at Great Barford to lose their spot at the top of the table. Reuben Hukin on the home scoresheet against a United reply from Jordan Appleton. Just one point behind in fourth slot having also played a game less are Elstow Abbey who netted a 3-0 home win over AFC Oakley M&DH Reserves. Ed L’Erario shooting them ahead in the 55th minute before strikes from Danny Pilgrim on 84 minutes and Myles Feraro on 88 minutes took the scoreline up to three by the final whistle.

The division’s lone away winners of the day were AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College Reserves who won 3-0 at Marabese Ceramics. Anas Bechkourn netting twice and Chris Allen once to claim the full three points.

The third 3-0 winners of the day were Queens Park Crescents in their home win over Shefford Town & Campton Reserves. Dante Barlie striking twice and Fabio Sattar once to do the damage. Whilst over at Miller Road, Meltis Albion were 4-3 home winners over Bedford SA thanks to braces of goals from Alex Smith and Alexis Kamenan against replies via Daniel Lupton twice and Ashlee Banton once.

Meantime, it was a share of the spoils for AFC Harlington and Potton Town in a 1-1 draw. Alex Barnwell the home goalscorer and Chris Moore netting for the Town.

Meltis Albion Reserves remain 100% for the season and at the head of the division two league table following their 8-2 victory at Renhold United Reserves.Marko Tobdzic and Raiquan Joseph both netting twice alongside an own goal plus strikes from Sheldon Washington, James Pickard and Josh St Clair Pierre against a brace in reply from United’s Michael France.

Just goal difference behind them and also still 100% for the season are Westoning who ran out 6-1 winners at Marston Shelton Rovers Reserves. James Lovett netting twice alongside goals for Lewis Wilson, Glenn Cooksley, Daniel Riddlesway and Nick Shirley against a lone home reply via Kryata Keelan.

Now in third spot are Stevington who went nap with a 5-1 win at Moggerhanger United. Aaron Fletcher and Gorgio La Mura both netting twice alongside a goal for Joe Holyoke, the home goal coming via an own goal. Whilst in fourth place are Elstow Abbey Reserves who won 5-3 at Clapham Sports.Shaun Cafferty netting twice plus Curtis McGall, Dave McCarthy and Dean Leydon for the Abbey against home replies via Neil Larman, Daniel McShane and Sam Maddix who didn’t help the home cause by getting red carded just 10 minutes into the game.

Continuing the away day winners were Wootton Village who won 7-1 at Kempston Con Club Sports. Sahil Hanza scored four times, Nick Burraway twice and Aidan Medhurst once against a lone home reply from Matthew Argent.

The lone home winners were Kempston Hammers Sports with a 5-0 win over Caldecote Reserves where Sunnie Sandhu netting twice and strikes from Martin Bennett, Dan Sherwood and Michael Farmer brought up the nap hand.

Elsewhere, the honours were shared in a 1-1 draw between Wilstead Reserves and Kempston Athletic. Matthew Johnson on the home scoresheet and Gary Whitbread hitting the Athletic reply.

Meanwhile, Bedford United failed to raise a side for their scheduled visit to FC Houghton who will now be awarded the three points.

With league leaders Dinamo Flitwick sitting the afternoon out their place at the top of the division three league table has been taken over by Cranfield United Reserves who ran out 6-0 home winners over Moggerhanger United. David Adderson grabbed a brace plus Adam Kerr, Mark Blunt, Peter Kerr and an own goal marked their scoresheet.

Also jumping above Dinamo into second spot are Flitwick Town Reserves who won 4-2 at Westoning U20. Benn Ward with a brace plus strikes from Mark Bartlett and Cody Roberts only being replied to by Dominic Benmoussa and Lewis Cooksley. Whilst just behind Dinamo on goal difference only in fourth spot are Atletico Euopa who won 5-1 at Lea Sports PSG. Kane Alexander, Junior Ivy, Brian Day, Ishmael George and Mo Banda bringing up the nap hand against a lone home reply from Jordan Yearwood.

It was a grand opening game of the season for Shefford Town & Campton A with a 7-1 home victory over Mid Beds Tigers. Sam Larsen netting four goals, Jordan Robbens two and Jake Hills once against a Tigers reply from Lee Pyke.

Enjoying their first win of the season and going nap were FC Serbia with a 5-0 home win over Caldecote U20.Bozo Saso netting four times and Darro Dorotic once. Whilst also claiming their first win of the season were Sandy Reserves in winning 2-0 at White Eagles where Carl Mercer netted both goals.
