United win in midweek but Rokermen out of cup

editorial image

A 77th minute strike from James Peters was enough to give Biggleswade United their second successive Premier Division three pointer as they beat Ampthill Town 1-0 at Woburn Road on Tuesday night.

But at Yaxley’s Leading Drove, Stotfold bowed out of this season’s Hinchingbrooke Cup, losing 3-2 to the Cuckoos despite twice taking the lead courtesy of Sam Stephenson and Mark Ellis.

A ninth minute goal from Harry Holland was enough to book Langford a place in the third round of the SSML Division One Cup as they beate Welwyn Garden Citry 1-0.

Potton United’s planned UCL Division One trip to Rothwell Corinthians was finally called off at 4pm yesterday as the home side’s Seargeant’s Lawn pitch was waterlogged.
