Midweek matches are frozen off

Our five local clubs sit out Tuesday night

All five games involving teams from Chronicle Country have fallen victim to an afternoon pitch inspection.

It means that the Hinchingbrooke Cup first round tie between Blackstones and Stotfold, the South Midlands Floodlit Cup match at The Hollow between Potton United and St Margaretsbury and all three Spartan South Midlands Premier Division matches - Biggleswade Town v Chalfont St Peter, Langford v Aylesbury Vale and Welwyn Garden City v Biggleswade United - failed to pass a referee's inspection.

However Waders boss Chris Nunn has asked all his players to bring their trainers and attend a special training session at the Carlsberg Staium which now boasts a fully equipped gym.

"We've got most of the equipment in place and it gives us chance to get together and keep our fitness levels up," he said on Tuesday.
