Stars line-up for celebrity charity match

Cancer charity to benefit from game

This Sunday (June 14) sees a celebrity charity cricket match at Carlton near Newmarket with Harry Judd from McFly captaining an all-star team for Teenage Cancer Trust's charity XI.

He will be joined by actor Greg Wise, Olympic swimmer Mark Foster and fundraiser extra-ordinaire Lloyd Scott. Joining the team will be special guest star Roger Daltrey, the Who's legendary frontman and a Teenage Cancer Trust Patron.

Coming out against Teenage Cancer Trust's XI for the Bunbury XI's will be a team of sporting prowess including Emmerdale actor Fraser Hines, ex-England cricketer Devon Malcolm, former Newcastle United manager Joe Kinnear and Northants cricketer Ben Howgego. And there wil also be a special guest star in the shape of Jeff Thompson, Australia's former fast bowler along with magician nd Paul Craven.

The match iss sponsored by Cambridge-based Excell Group plc and hosted by Robin and Willow Wylie. All fundsraised will go towards Teenage Cancer Trust's 1million Addenbrookes appeal for a new teenage cancer unit and the England Schools Cricket Association.

The match will take place at The Old Rectory, Carlton, Near Newmarket from 11.30am with the gates opening at 11am

Helen Bearfield-Smith of the Teenage Cancer Trust said: "There will be lots going on throughout the day to keep everyone entertained, so please do buy a ticket and come on down.

"There will be music from Hugo and the Huguenotes, a children's Helter Skelter, Mini Roundabout, Scribbles pottery workshop, Coconut Shy, children's tombola, Bowling for the 'Pig', T-shirt and CD stall, Lucky dip, face-painting, lots of stalls and much more!"

Tickets cost just 10 for adults and kids go free (all donations welcome).
