Tuesday wins for Blues, Reds and Rokermen

... while Waders hold on for point at Woodford

Tonight's Spartan South Midlands League derby at Forde Park saw relegation threatened Langford pick up three valuable Premier Division points with their third win of the season against Biggleswade United.

In a rather dull local derby, the visitors had several first half chance but failed to take them while it was the Reds who edged the second period although they didn't take the lead until the 87th minute when substitute Mark Wright headed in from a Ryan Nichol corner.

And a minute into time added on, a Lee Harman shot hit the Biggleswade woodwork and fell back to Nichol who made it 2-0 to give his side a league double following his sides recent success in the first round of the North Beds Charity Cup.

Down the road at Roker Park, Stotfold returned to winning ways after coming from behind to beat their bogey side, Newport Pagnell Town.

The Swans went ahead after nine minutes through Darren Lynch but three minutes later a Paul Garrett free kick was headed in by Leon Gutzmore for 1-1.

And the winner arrived in the 33rd minute following a long throw-in by Ryan Ellis that was headed on for Garrett who made no mistake.

In the Zamaretto Southern League, Arlesey Town hosted Rothwell Town with the Blues making it three wins on the bounce with a 4-0 victory in front of just 67 spectators.

They were a goal up after just three minutes courtesy of Ross Hanley while Wayne O'Sullivan added the second four minutes later. And when Ryan Frater netted the third in the 14th minute there was no way back for the Bones.

And to tidy up the scoreboard with goal number four, it was Luke Gregson on target.

At Woodford United, Biggleswade Town picked up another Division One Midlands point from a 1-1 draw after King put the home side ahead on three minutes with Brett Donnelly replying in the 35th.
