TUESDAY: Rokermen and United in east Beds draw

Wins for Blues and Waders but Reds lose

Stotfold were held in a 1-1 draw in their third Spartan South Midlands League match by local rivals Biggleswade United at Roker Park tonight (Tuesday).

The Rokermen dominated the opening 45 minutes but only had a 25th minute goal from Matt Kenneford to show from their efforts.

But United hit back through Scott Timmins in the 68th minute after having the better of the second half.

Over at Forde Park, Langford suffered their first defeat in three outings, going down 4-1 to Broxbourne Borough. All five goals came in the opening half with Brennan opening the scoring on seven minutes for the visitors before James Peters levelled for the Reds on 25.

But Borough made it 2-1 courtesy of Kargul on 35 minutes, Tyler for 3-1 on 37 and Kargul again just before the half time whistle.

In the second round of matches in the Southern League's Central Division, Arlesey Town travelled to Bedworth United where they made it two out of two with a 2-1 win.

The goals came from Chris Marsh on 44 minutes and Marc Leach with an 89th minute penalty, the home side having gone a goal up on eight minutes through Blyth to the delight of the 105 home spectators.

And at The Carlsberg Stadium, Biggleswade Town hosted Daventry Town and picked up all three points thanks to a 1-0 win, the only goal coming on 25 minutes scored by newcomer Banks-Smith in front of just 93 spectators.

And in the Premier Division, Bedford Town were held in a goalless home draw by Halesowen Town in front of 230 spectators.
