Waders and Blues both win this afternoon

... Rokermen and Potton are held while Reds and United lose

A 54th minute Bobby Dance strike allowed Biggleswade Town to avenge a 4-2 away Southern League defeat to Slough Town earlier in the season at the Carlsberg Stadium this afternoon.

The Waders hero was goalkeeper Dean Bull whose three brilliant first half saves denied the Rebels' lively Steve Sinclair as Slough turned on the style but, as the half progressed, the home side – who had drawn their previous three games – came more into it and they went on to boss the second half in front of 172 fans with Dance's strike being the icing on the cake against the fourth-placed visitors.

At Bromsgrove, Arlesey Town quickly forgot their Thursday night defeat at Soham as they beat the Rovers 2-1 to keep their play-off hopes alive.

The Blues went ahead through Glenn Garner on seven minutes but the home side – who have already been docked ten points for going into administration – fought on. But Arlesey made it 2-0 two minutes into the second courtesy of Nathan Frater with Sear pulling one back 15 minutes from time for the relegation threatened hosts.

In the Spartan South Midlands League, Biggleswade United went down 1-0 away to St Margaretsbury while Langford lost 3-1 at Royston Town's Garden Walk.

And in the United Counties League, Stotfold travelled to Bourne's Abbey Lawn in the Premier Division where they were held in a goalless draw while in Division One at The Hollow, Potton United drew 2-2 with visitors Wellingborough Whitworths.

The Flourmen snatched a point late after Graham Tibbals had put Potton ahead on 11 minutes while he added as second six minutes later.

Ryan Lovell pulled one back for Whitworths on 34 minutes while Gary Clelland salvaged a point for with an 87th minute equaliser.
