Potton lines up performers and pints at festival

The Performers and Pints music night makes a return after a short break for a gig on Friday April 29 starting at 8.30pm.

The event is part of The Rising Sun in Poton’s Beer Festival weekend and will showcase emerging musical artists from the local area.

The three piece group from Bedford, The Nimblewits, are the first act to perform.

They formed in 2008 and describe their music as folk-tinged pop/rock, indie-pop with an alt-country twist consisting of guitar, bass guitar, drums and the violin.

They have just released a New EP 5 track EP called Following Wind prior to that they have released one album and two EP’s.

Second up is DodoBones, a four piece group from Hemel Hempstead in Hertfordshire.

They were formed in 2009 and describe their music as wood rock, a combination of raw and heartfelt lyrics, with natural acoustic instruments which includes the Double Bass which when brought together gives their music a powerhouse performance vibe.

They are currently working on their fourth album of self penned songs. They have performed at various venues, pubs, clubs around the UK and Europe.

The Nimblewits kick things off tonight from 9pm. The Beer Festival at The Rising Sun in Potton continues from 12pm Midday today (Friday) across the whole Bank Holiday weekend with music on the Saturday night from Monkey Zunkle and on Sunday night from Greg McDonald with the music starting at 9pm on all three nights.
