Bah humbug! A Christmas Carol heads to The Court Theatre

DICKEN’S classic, A Christmas Carol, is as traditional as Xmas pud. The Court Theatre is being transformed into Victorian London for a play with carols - just right for the season.

Adapted and directed by Eileen Reece it features a fantastic cast of more than 30 playing 60 characters and some beautifully sung carols.

This Christmas favourite opens on Christmas Eve, exactly seven years after the death of Scrooge’s business partner, Jacob Marley. Marley visits the miser to warn him to change his ways. Scrooge has never “kept” Christmas, being a “squeezing, wrenching, grasping, scraping, clutching, covetous, old sinner”. Having been visited by three ghosts which show him his past, present and potentially terrible future, Scrooge wakes up on Christmas morning full of the joy and promises to treat his fellow men with kindness, generosity and compassion, gaining a reputation as a man who embodies the spirit of Christmas.

A Christmas Carol runs from November 22 - 26. For tickets contact the box office 0743 560478 or online www.courttheatre.co.uk
