Blood Brothers makes it debut at Waterside
Blood Brothers has triumphed across the globe, scooping up four awards for best musical in London and seven Tony nominations on Broadway and this week it has pitched up at The Waterside for a week-long run. Blood Brothers is simply unmissable and unbeatable.
Niki Evans, one of the real success stories of X Factor, stars as Mrs Johnston. After reaching the X Factor final in 2007, Niki has gone on to carve an enviable career in musical theatre. Her portrayal as a single mum struggling to bring up her brood on the mean streets of Liverpool is both powerful and poignant.

When Mrs Johnston, a young mother, is deserted by her husband and left to her own devices to provide for seven hungry children she takes a job as a housekeeper in order to make ends meet. It is not long before her brittle world crashes around her when she discovers she is pregnant yet again – this time with twins. In a moment of weakness and desperation, she enters a secret pact with her employer which leads exorably to the show’s shattering climax.
