Open air theatre to create magic for the audience

The Secret Garden sees young Mary Lennox go on a journey of discovery as she travels to her uncle’s house deep in the Yorkshire countryside.

There are some unexpected friends and very magical creatures help her unlock the mystery of the secret garden.

This most enchanting story, loved by children and adults alike, is presented in The Swiss Garden, Old Warren in Biggleswade on Thursday August 20.

It is a show alive with music and song and an array of especially designed puppet creatures, Mary’s story and The Secret Garden promises to capture the very spirit of summer and to be one of the highlights of the open-air garden theatre season.

The event from Chapterhouse Theatre Company’s 16th year of touring UK and Ireland, bringing to life some of literature’s best loved classics in magical outdoor performances that are designed for all the family. Other shows being toured include Jane Eyre, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and The Casebook of Sherlock Holmes.

Gates open at 6pm with the entertainment starting at 7pm.

The organisers of the event have asked people to dress accordingly for the outdoors and bring rugs and low backed seating.
