The Trading Standards team has seen a recent increase in reports from residents who have received a suspicious automated call from Amazon Prime.

If you ever receive an unexpected telephone call which starts with a recorded message claiming to be from Amazon Prime, hang up immediately as it's a scam.

The recorded message informs you that your Amazon Prime account is due for renewal or that there has been a problem with a payment and instructs you to press “1” to speak to an operator.
