All change for Bloomfield

Mr Rogers, who has been with the Shefford academy for 13 years, will become Chief Executive of the Chiltern Learning Trust.

In the end of term bulletin Mr Rogers thanked parents for their support and said: “It has been inspirational to work alongside such brilliant teachers, and motivated pupils and parents.

“I am proud to have been part of creating the most oversubscribed and popular school in the County.”

In his final bulletin he also looked back at some of the Academy’s achievements including becoming the first Middle School in Bedfordshire to reach the National Athletics final in 2009.

BEMAT Executive Principal, Rob Robson, said: “Adrian has been instrumental in creating our Multi-Academy Trust (BEMAT) and he has contributed greatly to the success of Robert Bloomfield and other academies within our local educational community. We will miss him greatly and wish him all the very best in his new role.

“Adrian’s deputy, Julian Axford, Vice Principal, has agreed to step up into the Principal’s role from September, whilst we begin the process of formal recruitment of a permanent successor.”

BEMAT Chair, Dr Clare Morris said: “ Part of Adrian’s success has been in building a strong leadership team at Robert Bloomfield, ensuring that no single individual is critical to maintaining our standards.”

Indeed, last year Ofsted remarked that “The Principal and the strong team of senior leaders have high expectations of both teaching and students’ achievement this has allowed them to create a vibrant and very successful academy”.
