Well over 800 visitors went to this year’s Sandy Show which has been as a ‘great success’ by Chairman, Andrew Havergal.
At the end of the Show, as is traditional, prize presentations were made and the various cups and trophies were presented to the worthy winning exhibitors by Mr Max Mcmurdo, successful entrepreneur who appeared on Dragon’s Den.
He said: “We hope everyone who came had an enjoyable time and we received many favourable comments about the format and events taking place.
“Our new Punch and Judy man, Professor Dumpling, certainly engaged with the youngsters and they were having a great time watching Punch’s antics.”
Chris’s Animal Encounters wowed the crowds and everyone was delighted to see the animals he had brought along especially the 16 week old eagle-owl that was on its first outing.
As usual, there was a range of stalls and attractions for visitors to view and enjoy. Of special mention was Brisco’s Gourmet Cake Company, who not only sold out of their delicious cupcakes and other fancy items but were able to donate over £50 to the Sue Ryder hospice at St John’s in Moggerhanger.
Andrew and the organising committee would like to offer their sincere and grateful thanks to all the exhibitors, stallholders, attractions, our many generous sponsors and of course the public who came along and supported our Show, not forgetting our judges, stewards and helpers, as without them there would be no Show!
Next year will be the 50th, ‘Golden Jubilee’ Show of the modern era, which will be held on Saturday, August 20
Photos taken at the Show will be on our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/TheSandyShow and at www.thesandyshow.org.uk.
