Officers investigating a burglary at a Shillington home while its occupants were on holiday are appealing for information.

A group of offenders attempted to steal from a Land Rover parked at a property in Church Street, before entering the house and making off with a laptop.

The offence was reported on Saturday, July 4. when the homeowners returned from holiday, but it is believed the incident itself took place the previous Sunday, June 28, at around 11pm.

PC Rupert Carlile, investigating, said: “This was an awful and distressing end to a holiday for this family and we are keen to bring those responsible to justice.

“I am particularly keen to speak to three men seen in a red car earlier in the day in Shillington, or anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in this area, as their information may help our investigation.”
