There have been a series of telephone scams committed throughout the county with the offenders claiming to be from the police.

The latest incident was reported last week where a man claiming to be a PCSO called the victim asking for money in relation to a magazine that was going to be published with regards to anti-social behaviour initiatives.

The caller intimidated the victim by stating he would not get any police assistance if he didn’t hand over the cash.

Police are urging people to be alert and help us by educating vulnerable members of the public who may be victim to this kind of offence.

Anyone with information relating to this incident or any other like it can contact Bedfordshire Police in confidence on 101, or text information to 07786 200011.
