Biggleswade’s Saxon Pool and Leisure Centre, managed by SLL on behalf of Central Bedfordshire Council, has been rated as ‘Excellent’ following a comprehensive assessment by Quest, Sport England’s leading national quality scheme.
The Centre went through a two-year process, with a mystery visit and two-day assessment in year one, and a second mystery visit and one-day review in year two.
Natalie Taylor, Centre Manager, said: “We are very proud to be recognised as an ‘Excellent’ centre. This is a fantastic achievement and a real team effort. The centre has undergone an extensive refurbishment programme in the last year, which will enable us to deliver even more new and exciting activities in the future.”
Quest is the nationally recognised improvement programme within the leisure industry and its rigorous assessments challenge even the very best leisure centres in the UK.
Cllr Tony Brown, Deputy Executive Member for Community Services, added: “We are proud of our leisure centres and services and we strive to offer the best quality possible for our residents, as well as delivering value for money. Quest has given us the assurance that lifestyles@saxon does just that.”
