Biggleswade man’s plea after bike find

Steve Hart was dismayed when his Giant Specialised mountain bike was stolen from outside his home in Biggleswade High Street earlier this month.

Although he reported the theft to Bedfordshire Police he had not heard anything back until he had a call telling him that the bike had been discovered.

Steve, 31, said: “Everything had gone very quiet and to be honest I was close to giving up on it but then the police called and said a man had come to the police station with the bike.

“He found it lying in a bush in Potton Road, Biggleswade on Sunday (November 20).”

Steve, who is a fireman, has not managed to obtain the man’s details but really wants to get in touch.

He added: “I was so pleased to hear that it had been found, but all I know is that it was an elderly gentleman but I don’t know his name or number.

“If the man is reading this I would like him to contact the Biggleswade Chronicle so I can buy him a drink.”
