Biggleswade students rock the house

YOUNG actors rocked the house when they put on a modern interpretation of a classic pantomime.

Students at Ivel Valley School in Biggleswade impressed parents with their production of Cinderella and Rockerfella.

The pantomime takes the original Cinderella story and moves it to the modern world, introducing new character Rockerfella, a rock star.

Parent Carolyn Drake, whose daughter Josie, 13, played Cinderella said: “The cast was made up of a whole range of children and young people with all sorts of different abilities.

Nobody was sidelined because they were in a wheelchair or because they couldn’t read or speak as well as other pupils.

“Everyone was given a chance to join in, whether it was by acting, singing, dancing, or just being in the thick of things! It was a great show and it was special in every sense.”

Headteacher Julie Mudd said: “Staff and students worked so hard putting together the show and I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house.”
