Biggleswade travel agent not affected

A HOLIDAY firm’s local branch will not be affected by mass store closures.

This morning (Wednesday) major vacation firm Thomas Cook announced that it will shut 200 branches across the UK over the next two years.

But a spokesman for the firm confirmed that the Biggleswade shop, which is located in the High Street, will not be affected.

The company previously said that 75 stores would close but an additional 125 outlets have now been added to the list.

The closures come after Thomas Cook experienced a £398m loss for the year to the end of September.

The Biggleswade travel agency currently has a charity campaign to help keep cats and dogs well fed this Christmas.

The shop is collecting wet and dry dog and cat food, blankets and money for Wood Green, The Animals Charity.

The charity’s Hungry Mouths Appeal will help feed the 900 animals at the centres in Godmanchester, Heydon and North London.

Resources will be stretched to the limit as staff look after the animals who will be left without a home this Christmas.

The annual appeal helps to feed and care for all the animals during the winter months.

You can take your donations to the shop.
