Roadworks took place at the Shortmead Street bridge in October last year and were completed, only to start up again earlier this month.

Central Beds Council originally started the roadworks when it was discovered that the bridge had been damaged during the development of flats.

They are being built by the Whitfield Group at Riverside Court.

A loose power cable was later discovered by UK Power Networks at the bridge, and so further work is now required.

Temporary traffic lights are in operation.
