THE business community in Chronicle Country will be given a boost thanks to a new development.

Four new offices are being built in Biggleswade, on a patch of land close to the railway station in Station Road.

The units, which are due to be completed next February will each be 1,000sq ft in size. The development is the brainchild of Harmony, a website design and marketing firm currently based in Millow, Biggleswade.

Managing director Jason Higgins said: “Although our current offices close to Dunton are good to work in we are a little out in the sticks and the internet connection isn’t great.

“Obviously as a web design firm a strong connection is important and when we saw that there was a patch of scrubland available next to the station car park we knew it would have potential.”

The new offices are around 400 yards from the Biggleswade telephone exchange and are being built in the style of Harmony’s current premises.

Jason added: “They will have a barn-like design similar to where we are now. As it stands we will be based in one of the offices, the fostering agency Foster Plus will be letting another and the other two are still available though we have had some enquiries and discussions with potential tenants.”

Harmony is also running a naming competition for the new development which is open to schools in the Biggleswade area.

Leaflets are being distributed to schools and youngsters are invited to come up with a name and design an accompanying logo.

The winner will win £500 for his or her school and will be presented with a granite plaque engraved with the design on the day the new offices open.
