Car and Olympic stamps purloined

Burglars stole a car – plus its precious cargo of 100 Olympic stamps.

They targeted the owner’s house in Clifton Road in Shefford while the owners were away between Thursday, November 1 and Friday, November 2.

The burglars forced their way into the house and stole the car keys as well as a small quantity of cash and jewellery. They then took the silver Smart car with registration FD53 UVN. It has been seen driving around Shefford.

On the seat were 120 white envelopes containing every first day cover stamp relating to the Olympics ever published, which the owner had bought for his son. Call the police on 101 with any information.
