Catholic parishes across Central Bedfordshire are joining together to walk over 50 miles across the county’s beautiful countryside to raise awareness of the impacts of a changing climate.
The pilgrims will be meeting local councillors and politicians and encouraging everyone they meet to sign up to CAFOD’s One Climate, One World campaign.
With the General Election approaching, the walk is ideally timed to show politicians from all parties that climate change is an important issue for local people and one that everyone can agree on and do something about.
Organiser Alban MacDonald, 60, from St Peter’s parish in Biggleswade said: “We share one world and the climate affects all of our lives.
“So what we do, whether that’s in Biggleswade, throughout Bedfordshire, the UK or overseas, can make a difference.
“By bringing together parishes across Central Bedfordshire we hope to sow seeds for change in the choices we make.”
